Bathcamp 5 / venue / etc
Hi all
Just a quick note to hopefully help with the current confusingness over the date for BathCamp 5...
We've moved venue - mainly because Revolution have now got a regular event planned for the Wednesday we normally have BC on, but also because some people wanted "real beer". [ What's wrong with lager, I really don't know, but you're clearly a fussy bunch :-) ]
Anyhoo. I managed to land us a spot at The Raven, and we'll be there tonight (6th May) for the quiz. They've also pencilled us in for the 4th Monday of each month, and suggested we do the next event on 25th May so we don't have a huge gap between events.
I've just noticed that the 25th is a bank holiday Monday - I'll confirm this is actually ok with the Raven, but for now assume that it is. I've pencilled in the date - please RSVP here: http://bathcamp.ning.com/events/bathcamp-evening-meetup-5
One thing that is different to the Revolution room is that although we have the Raven room booked, they don't provide it *exclusively* for bookings. This means the general public can come to our events. I don't have a problem with this in the slightest - the more the merrier - but it might change the dynamic a bit. It also means that we have to basically edge people out in order to have enough space for ourselves. It's not the biggest of venues, and we might find we're a bit squashed. We'll see how it goes tonight, but I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts - email, tweet, forumitise it. Ditto with the date change. All feedback welcome.
