Event Description

It's the second BathCamp evening meetup...an informal gathering of interesting people talking about interesting things...

For the second BathCamp evening session, we're going circuit-bending tastic...

Ben Tomlinson, Creative Director of London agency Ico Design is our guest speaker for the evening. He'll be demonstrating some of the stuff you can do with the amazing Arduino platform. This'll be an interactive session where you'll get a chance to see and fiddle with some electronics as well as pick Ben's brains on how to get started.

Ico produce lovely installations, websites and other digital media pieces (not to mention a fair bit of print, too). Ben hacks his way through anything he can get his hands on (I've seen his house..) and will be helping to run a toy hacking workshop for Tinker.it at the end of January.

** Update - 24th Feb - We're delighted to announce that Dale Lane will also be speaking about the cool stuff he's done hacking around with the Current Cost home energy monitor... **

As per last time, there will probably be some people grabbing food in Revolution before the talks - meet from 6pm.

@all

You don't have to bring any kit to the evening. I'll be giving you all an overview the Arduino platform as well as demoing some bits and bobs. But feel free to have a tinker with whatever you bring though :-)

@Julian - I don't think so - Ben should be bringing kit with him. I've got an Arduino at home so will bring that too. @Jamie - could be a plan - maybe ask people on the night who wants to club together

Hi All,

Just been given a link to Arduino and BathCamp by a friend. Very interesting stuff. I've been working on my own project using PIC chips amongst others.

I'm looking for a cost effective programmable device for various applications. I'd like to know more about the Arduino approach.

I'd be in for a Arduino or two from tinker.it if we can get 10 orders together.

Hey, do you think I'll need to buy an Arduino board for this meetup? From looking at the tiner.it site if we buy 10+ we can get them for £21.52 :-)

Cheers, Julian
